Why is my business listed here?

You did not sign up for this, and you are probably wondering how your business ended up on a website you have never heard of. Here is the straight answer.

Who we are

Mentioned is a Canadian business directory run by Culturis, a small company in Ottawa. The idea is that the businesses who have actually been someone's customer should be able to recommend them in public, by name, where the next person deciding who to hire will read it.

Why you are on it

When we started, we built the directory from business information that was already published: municipal business registries, the Canada411 directory, chamber of commerce listings, and Google Business listings. Your business was in one of those. We did not buy a list and nobody gave us your details.

What your listing holds

Your business name, category, city, and where they were published, your address, phone number and website. That is all. No owner names, no personal information, no reviews, and nothing anyone has written about you.

What it costs

Nothing, and there is nothing to cancel. A listing has never cost anything and we have never charged anyone who did not choose to pay.

What you can do

1. Take it over. It is your business, so the page should say what you want it to say. Activating it lets you write your own description, correct anything wrong, add photos, and ask the businesses that have been your customers to recommend you. Find your listing.
2. Correct it. If something is wrong and you do not want the page, tell us what is wrong and we will fix it.
3. Remove it. No explanation needed, and we will not ask you for one.

Anything else, or if you would rather just write to a person: hello@mentioned.ca.
