Common questions.
01 Why is there no negative review mechanism?
Mentioned is built on positive signal only. Community members can recommend a business with one tap. There is no review, no rating, no negative feedback. The reason is structural. Small businesses are vulnerable to coordinated negative campaigns in ways that the platform’s design intentionally prevents. If you have a bad experience with a listed business, Google or Yelp are the right venues. Mentioned is the long quiet record of who trusts whom.
02 What happens to my data if I cancel?
Your business listing reverts to a basic inactive listing. The basic public information stays in the directory but founder profile, circle, and graph data are removed. You can re-activate and re-subscribe at any time. Full deletion (removing the listing entirely) is also available on request. Your data is cleared within 30 days under PIPEDA.
03 Can I get a refund if I cancel mid-month?
No mid-cycle refunds. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. You keep paid features until then. Annual subscribers cancelling early do not receive a partial refund. This keeps the math simple and the platform sustainable.
04 Do you charge commissions on bookings or sales?
No. Mentioned takes no commission on any transaction. You list, you connect, you transact directly with customers. The subscription is the entire pricing model. What you pay is what you pay.
05 Can I list more than one business?
Yes. Each business gets its own subscription. A founder running three businesses pays for three Connected subscriptions, or three Featured subscriptions. There is no multi-business discount at launch. We may add one once we see usage patterns.
06 What does “edge confirmation” mean?
When you mention another business on Mentioned, that business has to confirm the mention before it becomes a permanent edge in the network. Both sides agree the relationship is real. Confirmation is what makes the graph trustworthy. Anyone can name a connection. Only confirmed connections appear publicly.
07 Is my payment information stored on Mentioned?
No. Payments are processed securely through Stripe. Mentioned never stores credit card numbers, CVV codes, or full card details. You can view, update, or cancel your subscription from your account dashboard at any time.
